  • New fixed-dose combination of tenofovir, cobicistat, elvitegravir and emtricitabine, called “the Quad,” approved by the US Food and Drug Administration in August 2012. Technology transfer on cobicistat and elvitegravir commences for Pool sub-licensees
  • Laurus Labs, a manufacturer of active pharmaceutical ingredients for the treatment of HIV, becomes the fifth generic company to sign a licence with the Pool to produce five HIV medicines for use in developing countries
