Licensing Executive Society Award
The Medicines Patent Pool, the US National Institutes of Health/University of Illinois at Chicago and Gilead Sciences were honoured by the Licensing Executives Society (United States and Canada) (LES) for licence agreements that expand access to affordable HIV medicines in developing countries. World AIDS Day
World AIDS Day is an opportunity for people around the world to come together to fight the HIV epidemic. It started in 1988 and is observed every year on 1 December. From 2011 – 2015, the theme of World AIDS Days is “Getting to zero: zero new HIV infections. Zero discrimination. Zero AIDS related deaths.”
